Red Raspberry Leaf Tea to Relieve Menstrual Pain

My alarm goes off at 0600 every morning. I groggily put on my sports bra and tennis shoes and start one of my many work-out DVDs to start my day. I do push ups, pull ups, lunges and squats all in order to build lean muscle tissue. The science behind this equation is easy – use your muscles to build muscle. But how can you tone muscles in your body that can’t be toned with weights or treadmills? The muscle I’m talking about is the uterus. The uterus or womb is lined with muscles that are primarily designed for childbearing which as we all know gives way to that monthly visitor that brings a suitcase full of cramps, bloating, heavy cycles and more. What if I told you that there is an all natural remedy with no side effects that also helps regulate menstrual cycles, treat cramps, aid in fertility, even lessen the chance of miscarriage, and help labor? Interested?

While there have been very few studies on the effects of red raspberry leaf tea (tea made from the leaves of the raspberry plant), it has been used for thousands of years to tone the uterus for fertility and menstrual problems. Studies have concluded that there are no side effects of this natural remedy. Raspberry leaf tea is full of nutrients including iron, calcium, manganese and magnesium, vitamins B1, B3, C, and E.

In the past, I have tried synthetic hormone treatments to deal with irregular periods, heavy bleeding, and cramps. I suffered through severe side effects including heavy bleeding in between cycles, severe depression and of course, cramps. I decided to try raspberry leaf tea because it had no side effects, could be bought at the grocery store or online, and even if it didn’t work for my specific problems it was still very nutritious. After drinking 1-2 cups a day for about two months I noticed a significant change in the regularity and severity of my cycles.

While I can tone my arms, legs and abdominal muscles through weight and cardio routines, I continue to use red raspberry leaf tea to tone my uterus and reproductive system. Does anyone have other experiences with raspberry leaf tea to share? Any successful fertility stories through this ancient elixir?

Bonus: For an all natural beauty product try applying cold tea or tea bags to your face as an astringent to tone your skin and treat acne.

  1. I am suffering with heavy period pains 10 years full..and I need to conceived but my gynacology said I have been diagnosed with Poor eggs…
What must I do to boost my poor eggs?

  2. I started raspberry tea a week ago coz I heard this tea balance my hormones and for my pcos. Yes I have hypothyroidism and pcos. So after a week of drinking raspberry tea for 3x a week I got my period but the only problem is my period take only 1-2 hours something like 8-10am after drinking the tea. Today is my 3rd day of period but still 8-10am only. So I don’t know if this really works to me. Or maybe I would drink less like 1-2 cups a day. I have a very irregular period. I don’t trace my period at all coz I really don’t know it comes if it comes. But I hope raspberry tea will help me.

    • Red raspberry leaf tea is pretty easy to find, Walmart has the Celestial Seasonings which tastes pretty good. There are other brands as well. Amazon has the herb you can order too.

  3. Been using my raspberry leaf tea for 2 weeks now and it is literally amazing. My cramps are pretty much gone when before my cramps were so bad that I was eating ibuprofen like candy. I’m 4 days into my cycle and I have only taken ibuprofen 1 time last month before I discovered this tea I was taking at least 2400 milligrams a day to keep them at bay. I have never been a huge believer in the natural remedy thing but this completely changed my mind! I am so in love with this tea!

  4. I went on the tea after reading about it’s other benefits unrelated to period discomforts and loved it but I eventually just switched to another tea after awhile. Soon after I noticed my period symptoms were worsening to the point where I was looking for anti-nausea teas and realized that my period symptoms had only alleviated before was because I had been drinking raspberry leaf tea so regularly before and not realized the wonders it was doing. I have been drinking it again for the last few weeks and my period this time is much better than when I was off the tea but I’m still experiencing nausea. I’m certain that after a few more weeks my period will be much less stressful as it was before. I like to drink 2 cups a day and I find that it takes about two weeks of regular comsumption before you will notice the effects. What an amazing herb.

  5. Hello,
Actually am much suffering, I don’t get regular periods nd am trying to conceive, initially I had pcod now doctor suggested i don’t have… if I have medicines I get periods if not am not getting periods. Neither am getting period nor conceive… whether this help me out? From my issues

  6. I’ve taken multiple cups of red raspberry leaf tea most days over the last 4-6 months. I usually have cramps (sometimes terrible), which have gotten slightly better over the years but never disappeared. Two periods ago I had just a little cramping and rumblings in my abdomen. On the last period I had zero cramping and only a minute or two of slight discomfort. I’m crediting raspberry leaf tea, as I haven’t changed my diet or exercise significantly, and will continue to monitor how things go. I wish there were more studies and solid information on this subject, as it’s still a guessing game for me!

  7. I have used it for about two weeks now at two cups a day.
I haven’t had a period yet to see if it is helping in that way, but oh my…
I feel really great…scarily great. I feel energetic. I can feel blood flowing through my skin.
Before using it I think my libido was pretty low. Now I feel like I’m 20. I feel really great–I’m trying not to
use any offensive words or phrases here if you get my drift. My breasts have also been pretty sore for this second week, but that seems to be subsiding now. Maybe one cup a day is completely sufficient.
I read that it can have an estrogenic effect. I’ve also read that it’s good for men too. Really?
    I’m not sure about that.

  9. My daughter used to have terrible periods. Literally the first 24 hours she woukd be prostrated and the cramps and convulsions would cause diarrhoea and vomiting. She couldn’t even hold down water or tea. Then I had never seen articles suggesting raspberry leaf for period problems but just for pregnant women, but I began to think that she was going through something.like childbirth every month so thought she should try it. It made the mist incredible difference. She can carry on her normal life, go to work or so on. And it is tha raspberry leaf that makes the difference. Sometimes she has forgotten to take it, or run out of it (she usually takes it everyday for 10/15 days before her period is due) and then the symptoms are back with a vengeance.

  10. Red Raspberry Leaf has been nothing short of a miracle for me. I suffered terrible debilitating cycles for 25 years, diagnosed with pcod and Menorrhagia, prescribed hormonal trtmts.,anti inflammatories, narcotics, you name it. I missed days upon days of school, work, family functions, other social activities and more, over the years, the pain making it unbearable to even move most of the time without needing to throw up, not to mention the questions and comments such as get over it, its just a period all women have them, or youre such a baby, thats always youre excuse, etc..Today, my cycles are on to the day and nearly as normal as they can be, i believe. Theres some discomfort but i have a hard time categorizing it with actual pain such as it was before. Today I grow my own raspberry plant, i harvest the leaves, dry them in a dehydrator and use them to make my red raspberry leaf tea. Red Raspberry leaf, as silly as it may sound, has literally changed my life for the better.

    • Would you consider sharing your health story so that others might learn from your experiences. For example, how long did it take to notice a change? How often did you have to drink the tea? Things like that would really help other readers.

    • I make raspberry tea as a cold tea with some lemon and a bit of honey in it. I’m not really a fan of fruity teas when they’re hot, so I figure this is just as good. I have awful period cramps and a heavy flow. Have been reading up on raspberry tea benefits and have been wondering how much to drink in order to see some potential side effects. Any ideas? Thanks!

      • I think you’re confusing raspberry tea and raspberry LEAF tea! It happened to me for a while too because I thought how can a fruity tea be “similar to black tea” in taste? And then at some point I suddenly noticed the “leaf” haha.

    • Do u drink it daily or only during ur period ?? I am new to drinking it and bought the good stuff and been drinking it three times a day during my period only

  11. 12. I agree that red raspberry leaf tea is helpful for womens reproductive issues. I have used it at times but after reading this post, will drink it more regularly to see if it reduces cramps. Let’s hope so! Thanks for the info.
